Initial Audience Research
I have played each of my potential song choices to the rest of my class and asked them to tell me which is their favourite.
These were the results:
Get Lucky-2
Video Killed The Radio Star-3
I Want To Break Free-4
Clearly; I Want To Break Free is the most popular choice but Video Killed The Radio Star comes a close second. Video Killed The Radio Star is my favourite and so given that it has a proportionally high number of votes, I am still most likely to choose this one, depending on what the public say in my Survey Monkey survey!
Choosing a song...
This part is really difficult, however I have narrowed my choices down to 3 songs.

These choices are very mainstream compared to what everybody else chose.
The song I am most likely to choose is Video Killed The Radio Star. My reason for this is that it is massively iconic and was the first music video to air on MTV in 1981.
Once I have completed audience research I will make a final decision.

Our preliminary task
The preliminary task confirmed the fact that lip syncing is hard, especially when you can't sing! This is something that must be worked on for the real project. The other thing that really has to bee improved is the use of green screen; more effort will be put in to correctly lighting it so that it doesn't turn out to be a disaster like in this video!What I did like however was the stage lights which I feel made the video more exciting and so will be making full use of this facility in my video. I also would like to use the technique of screens within screens, as seen at 1:59 I recgognise that it didn't quite work out in the preliminary task and so will be sure to correct this in the real thing!

An update...
So, over the past few weeks we have been working on a mock music video project to gain experience using the techniques we have been taught in lesson.
Filming is almost complete and is looking good. The mission now is to edit a size-able chunk before the end of the summer term, which could be interesting!
Having to sing wasn't a particularly enjoyable experience for me, and I have discovered that guitar isn't exactly my forte either! Lucky we have Jake in the team-a musician, and Daisy who just went for it anyway!
Over the holiday I intend to do some more research into music video's and the industry to post on the blog.
